Product Review: Purex Crystals

I recently switched from liquid fabric softener to Purex Crystals. I thought that the fact that they are 92% natural & not oil-based was terrific. I was able to use them on everything, including baby clothes, because it wouldn't interfere with the flame retardant used on them. Plus they were way affordable!

I used both the purple bottle & the blue bottle. Some people have complained about the blue one having too strong of a smell, but I didn't have a problem with that. Actually, I found the fragrance to be too soft on my dried laundry. I love the smell of clean laundry! LOL

All went well for a month or two, but then I noticed that my clothes were feeling stiffer when I took them out of the dryer. Not super stiff but not as soft as they were when I had been using liquid softener. Plus my towels were feeling slightly rough.

I started to think maybe it was just me. I can be pretty particular about that kind of stuff. But then my husband started mentioning how the towels especially weren't smelling clean just a day or so after I washed them.

So I went back to liquid. I'm not super brand-loyal. I usually use either Suavetel, Downey or Snuggle. After just one wash in my liquid softener, my clothes & towels are back to being sweet-smelling & snuggly!
