2 Diet Weeks Down--Almost
So technically tomorrow is the last day of Phase 1, the most intense Phase of South Beach, but I have time to write a post this morning, so deal with it. ;-)
P1 Starting Weight: 180
Current Weight: Yesterday I weighed in at 169!
Number of Pounds Lost: 11
My thoughts about P1:
It's hard. Because I'm nursing, I was alloted extra dairy, otherwise I'm not sure if I honestly would've made it in the beginning. But then I started drinking Almond Milk about a week ago & that stuff is awesome!! It tastes great & nutritionally speaking, it blows cow milk out of the water!
I had all these fancy dinners planned for P1, but I quickly found out that simple is the way to go. Especially when you have 4 kids. I also learned to make an extra couple of servings of dinner so that my husband & I could each have a healthy lunch the next day.
We found some great products from a company called Walden Farms. Their products are fat free, carb free, gluten free, cholesterol free & calorie free! And they taste great! We got BBQ sauce & Ranch dressing, but they have tons of stuff like pasta sauce, peanut butter, jelly, mayo & more!
We did cheat a bit on the diet but we ate in moderation & never binged. Like last night I got a grilled chicken sandwich (I only ate half) & a value-sized fry (smaller than a small). My husband got the same. But then we both got really sick. I'm thinking its because our bodies aren't used to the oil.
My stomach has actually shrank. I mean, I eat such small portions now & am full. I don't force myself to eat more.
All in all, I saw great results with P1 & am really happy. This has been the kick-start I needed to get back in shape!
Thoughts About Upcoming P2:
I'm not sure if I'm going to follow it to the letter. I think that if I continue to eat in way smaller portions (in moderation) & just not buy as much breads (like biscuits, crescent rolls, dinner rolls, etc) & avoid the baked dessert aisles, continue to exercise on a daily basis then I should continue on my weight loss path.
