Menu 6/18-6/24 (SBD Phase 1, Week 1)
So I am finally taking a proactive approach to losing weight & getting healthy! Yay me! LOL
While there are a lot of weight loss programs, I am going to do the South Beach Diet (SBD). I have heard so many great success stories from SBD users, including a friend of mine who lost 60 lbs on the SBD & has kept it off for 7 years!
I want to be a success story, too!
I will be starting the Diet on Monday & the first Phase lasts 2 weeks. I will be following a very strict low/no-carb, low-fat menu during that time. The purpose is to retrain my tastebuds, break cravings...and possibly detox a bit, too.
My entire family (except the youngest two) will be eating the SBD meals because, as you will see, they are very nutritious & really aren't "diet-y" meals. The kids, however, will be allowed carbs & dairy & fruits, because they're not really dieting. ;-)

So, without further ado, here is my dinner menu for Phase 1, Week 1 (click on the blue links to get the recipes!):
Monday: SouthWestern Pot Roast with Garbanzo, Tomato & Cilantro Salad With Lime & Chile Dressing
Tuesday: Grilled Chicken with Chinese Broccoli Salad
Wednesday: Oven-Baked Swedish Meatballs with Chopped Greek-Style Salad With Red, Yellow & Orange Bell Peppers
Thursday: Sausage, Beans & Greens with Mary's Perfect Salad
Friday: Taco Soup (maybe with a salad or some cut up veggies)
Saturday: Forbidden City Chicken with Roasted Spicy Cauliflower
Sunday: West African Chicken & Peanut Stew With Chiles, Ginger & Green Onion with Mary's Perfect Salad
I think that sounds pretty yummy, don't you?
