And so it begins...
AussieBear woke up not feeling too well this morning.
He got sick twice before 9:30 am.
Then he told me, "Mommy, me see on tv one time when he sneeze and no feel good and his mommy give him soup. It make him feel all better. Soup is good when you no feel good."
Who can fight that logic, man??
So I asked him if he would like noodles in his soup ("YES!!") and got to work.
I just made a broth with water and bouillon cubes. Then I added some spices to it. It was about 2 cups of broth. Then I put the broth and 2 fresh organic garlic cloves in a blender and let it blend for about 30 seconds or so...just enough to get the garlic in as tiny pieces as possible.
Brought it to a boil then tossed in some mini tube noodles.
The reason garlic is so important is because garlic is one of the most powerful antibiotics. No joke, it has cured infections in my family that even 2 rounds of prescribed antibiotics couldn't kill.
(Note: Jarred minced garlic will not yield the same effects. It needs to be fresh.)
Not only did it smell absolutely delicious, it tasted even better!! AussieBear ate his all up and even Levi asked for a bowl when he woke up. And he ate it all, too!!

Not sick...just loves "soups" haha |
I also decided to make him some fresh ginger "tea" to soothe his belly. I took about a tablespoon of freshly grated ginger and put it in a large mason jar of boiling water. I covered it and let it sit for about 30 mins, swirling it occasionally, to make sure the ginger was infusing the water.
Once it was done, I poured the "tea" into a coffee mug, making sure the ginger pieces didn't get in. I added a bit of sugar (I am out of raw honey, which would have been better), enough to make a 4 year old want to drink it. ;-)

Ginger "tea" |
He loved it!! He said that it made his tummy feel all better.
He hasn't been sick since and has kept the soup and "tea" down.
Anyone with more than one kiddo knows that sickness in the home will usually start with one person and quickly start a domino-effect, taking everyone down.
I am trying to stop that from happening, so I decided to have everyone do an ACV shot.
ACV = Bragg's raw unfiltered apple cider vinegar
I mix it into about an ounce of water for each person and we down it like a shot.
I put about a half tablespoon in for each big kid.
A full tablespoon in mine.
And even the littlest guys wanted in on the germ-killing-action, so I put about a teaspoon of ACV in each of their "shots".

He saw his sissy plug her nose when she drank it, so he followed suit. |

Levi said it tastes like "lemonade" |
Raw unfiltered ACV is known for it's amazing anti-bacterial, anti-fungal and anti-viral properties. Drinking it will put it on the fast track to your digestive system and it will begin killing germs immediately. I'm hoping that it will help keep the rest of us from getting sick. Or at least keep us from getting horribly sick.
I'll keep you posted on how it worked!!
Have any tummy bugs hit your house this year yet??
