Bok! Bok! Chickenpox!
Hahaha, that title was me trying to "sound" like a chicken.
::Dork::
It was inevitable, with Antonio having shingles and being extremely contagious for the chickenpox....well, with 4 kids, at least one of them was bound to come down with the itchy little buggers!
And the "lucky" winner was....Austin!
He actually got a very mild form of them. They started as little pink spots, grew into red bumps and then into little blisters. He only got about 10 pox, mostly on his back.
No fever.
No headache.
No loss of appetite.
No decrease in energy.
Not even any itching!
It took a bit of research to find out why exactly he was hardly affected by them.
Turns out, his high raw diet helps to provide an amazingly strong immune system!
(His typical daily "diet" is a fresh fruit smoothie for breakfast and a fresh fruit plate for lunch...sometimes he has a pb sandwich (organic pb) and lots and lots of water during the day. Snacks are fresh fruits.)
It's been about a week and a half (give or take) and his pox are beginning to dry up.
I've been keeping an eye on the rest of the kids, but so far, no bumps.
Which is really weird, considering that our kids are always together. They share foods and drinks. Heck, even Austin and Levi share a bed every night!
We'll see what happens. In the meantime, I've been adding in fresh squeezed lemonade a few times a week to provide an extra boost in their immune system.
So, that's what I've been up to lately.
What about you guys?
How was your Easter?!!
UPDATE...turns out, we weren't done (or quite so lucky) with the chickenpox...here is our experience with Round 2
