My "I'm 35 Weeks Pregnant & Want Easy Comfort Food" Meal Plan | 3/13-3/18
I will preface this weekly meal plan by explaining that I am still trying to maintain some semblance of healthy eating...but, seriously, at this late stage of pregnancy & having 4 kiddos at home all day, I am getting waaaay too tired to be spending much time in the kitchen chopping and prepping vegetables. The big kids do offer to help me with prepping and cooking but, honestly, I don't want to keep loading them down with extra work when they are all getting anxious about the baby and knowing these are our last days of a semi-calm household. Maybe this baby will be calm and mild...but it could also be a real demanding little stinker...so we're just hoping for the best but mentally preparing for the worst. hahaha Plus, I'm reallllly wanting more rich and carby meals this week, so watch for the potato and pasta dishes to add up. hahaha (ya'll know I try to keep pasta to a minimum...and have been cooking vegetarian for awhile now...this is a definite curve off of that path)
But I still tried to work healthier options in...
BREAKFAST OPTIONS
Honey Nut Cheerios
Wheaties
Smoothies
LUNCH/SNACK OPTIONS
Tuna salad
Yogurt
Dinner leftovers
Last week lunch leftovers
Mac & Cheese
(yeah, totally put a ton of boxes of mac and cheese into my cart this week without thinking about it! It sounded really good! lol)
Scoop of peanut butter
(the kids seem to want it every single week as an option)
Banana-based Smoothies
(we still have close to 15-20 lbs of bananas to get through from last week's case)
Cuties
Bananas
DINNERS
Cauliflower Chowder with roasted potatoes
Slow Cooker Split Pea Soup & Spicy Black Bean Pattys
(I never made it last week. See? Laaaaazy mama)
(I'm making mine vegetarian, though)
Spinach & Ricotta Ravioli with iceberg salad
(ravioli is from a bag, yo)
Veggie burgers (on buns!! oooh!!) w/slow cooker loaded potatoes
One Pot Spicy Thai Noodles with iceberg salad
(I'm not adding the peanuts...we think that's weird to put peanuts on pasta...hahaha)
And we'll have a Date Night or Take Out night in there...maybe 2...we'll see. ::wink::
I hope everyone has a great week this week!! I have another midwife appt this week. I know my last midwife post was titled "34 week Visit" which makes the 35 week visit seem unnecessary at this point...but, our visit was technically one day before I turned 34 weeks. We had rescheduled from earlier in the week due to my midwife being very sick, which pushed me closer to the 34 week mark. So really my 35 week visit is completely on track.
I'll let you know how it goes!!
As for my weekly meal plan, I hope I was able to inspire you a little and give you some new recipes to try out! Let me know if you end up making any!!
Until next time...xoxoxo
